A Thousand and One Nights , also known as Arabian Nights , is a 
collection of stories gathered from various Eastern cultures. First 
collected in Persia between 988 and 1011, a larger collection was 
translated early in the 18th century. “Aladdin,” “Sinbad The Sailor,” 
and “Ali Baba” are contained within the collection.
